Alright! So, I've gone and done a little bit more work on my dragon hawk image. Well, considering that the color comp is due tomorrow, it makes sense I would have to put some work into it! Well, here's what I've done so far... I'm interested to see how much my professor likes/dislikes my choices as of now...
Well, let's throw in some progress stuff!
So, I needed to work out the design of my lizard hawk, and did a quick drawing of an idea for the boy (I'm so out of practice!! I need to do more character studies)
Drawing a winged creature without its wings is a much better way to understand the anatomy. In fact, later, I'm going to jump in and completely re-do those crappy wings on the color rough and you know... add in actual anatomy....
I wanted to make him more of an Asian boy. ... I love ethnicity but all my characters are whities :/ Sadly, I think we're zoomed too far out from the boy to make out an ethnicity.
Annnd... here's a bonus Pandora drawing!!
ain't she a cutie? (my sketchbooks get far too many cute Pandoras in them)

Woot! I can finally access your blog! Nice start on the dragon. If you're not to refined to just the dragon and the man above water, another character would help add to this (between the dragon and the man behind the pillar pushed back, but possibly wrapping itself around or a man or woman gripping the pillar looking on at the dragon and man's interaction)- just an idea. I love it so far though and always like how you make it a clear distinction when showing a cross-section of water.
ReplyDeleteThank you Steven! And glad you can see the blog :)!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'll probably keep it as is, just because of my prompt!
""The young boy came to visit his new friend in the enormous cave in which it lived. It was part reptile and part hawk, quite large, and was fond of its new young friend. The cave interior had a beautiful pond and was illuminated by torches affixed to the cave walls. T he young boy was bringing fresh food from home""
It didn't specify any other characters, so I kept it to "a boy and his dragon." Although, at this point, I got the go ahead compositionally and I already have a lot of work ahead, so I may just stay with just the two for now, hahaa.
